One of my favourite things to do as a photographer is to document the average, sometimes pretty boring, family days. See, I don’t think they are boring. I look at your life and see the wonder, and beauty, and humour, and something worth remembering, in every moment, however insignificant.
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savoured.

This family was no exception. They were pretty exhausted after a full-on week (as most families are!) and decided to spend the day not rushing anywhere, chilling at home, popping down to the Chelsea Food Market for delicious lunch (and a cheeky prosecco for the parents), and playing in their lovely garden in between. They read books, did crafts, threw tantrums (kids, not the parents), caught up with family abroad over Skype, cuddled up together, learned to ride a bicycle, and more.
Here’s just a small selection of my favourite images from the day. Enjoy!
That’s a lovely documentary of the day. And the best bit is that mum/dad isn’t stuck behind the camera to capture it.
Thank you Paula!! Yes one of the things we as parents lack is being in the pictures with our kids – that’s where I come in!
