For today’s One Frame I picked this image from a recent Vacation Photoshoot in London for a family from the Middle-East. It was a very last minute booking as they stopped off in London for a few days on their way back home from the States, but I was delighted to accommodate as it wasn’t the first time I photographed these guys! We first met in 2011, when their first son was just about to turn 2 years old, and now they have been blessed with the second son, who was now also two years old! It was so wonderful to see this beautiful family again, and once again document their time in London.
We decided to start their photoshoot at their suite at Hotel Cafe Royal on Regent’s Street, and capture the family getting ready for their day out in London as part of their documentary vacation photoshoot. As I walked it, I saw their youngest standing on a little juliette balcony, overlooking Trafalgar Square and Waterloo Place, with red London buses passing by, and I quickly grabbed a series of shots of him there, in the boys’ paradise, watching all the traffic swish by, and refusing to go get dressed. Moments like these cannot be staged, and I’m so blessed that my clients trust me to document the story of their holiday just as it evolves.
After a quick bath for the youngest son, we headed out to Kensington and Hyde Park, where we played, fed the ducks, and rode the carousel, and generally enjoyed the abundant wild greenery of the Royal Park, something that this family just doesn’t have back home. We finished the photoshoot with a lunch at Carluccio’s, which was also fun to document, as the little one was playing with his spaghetti and was determined to mixed them up with water in his glass. There was definitely a lot of laughter both from the parents, and from the photographer!
