Aidan
I joined Aidan and his parents on a warm Spring morning to document their typical Sunday stroll around Bishops Park in Fulham. We played in the sandpit, fed the ducks, ate yummy farmers’ market food and had a little picnic at Fulham Palace and Gardens next door.
Nino
Kate booked me for their family session with a 7 week old baby Nino just two weeks before he was due to have an open heart operation. Nino was born with congenital heart decease, and it was a stressful and scary time for his parents, but it was important for them to capture their life before the big operation. As I’m writing this, Nino is now safely home following his arterial switch and a couple of weeks stay at the hospital, and according to Kate is going from strength to strength.

When the weather outside is less than ideal (I’m writing this as 40mph winds rage outside and the rain is lashing against the windows) many parents are inclined to delay their family photoshoot and wait until spring/summer/better weather.

How I got my mum to “act natural”
When I was growing up I was absolutely convinced I was adopted because the 10 year old me saw no other logical reason as to why there were a lot of photos of me, but my parents were never in the family pictures. Like ever.
Now as a grown up with my own child I notice the trend.

Last week we headed to The Stones (that’s Stonehenge if you’re not local) with a group of other home educating families. To be honest, I went there as much for me as for my Mr almost-5. Give me an ancient monument over an art gallery any day, that’s me.
