I few weeks ago I flew out to Stockholm to for a weekend away – and also to photograph a wonderful international family that lives there. Caroline is from Germany (and also an amazing family photographer) and Richard is a fellow Brit, and they’ve been living in Stockholm together with their 3 trilingual (!!!) kids for about 10 years now.
It was a pleasure to get a glimpse of a life in a different culture and in different country… which is not that different from life here in the UK – except they get to sledge in their back garden in the afternoon, and their house is very, very warm even when it’s -15C outside (a shocking revelation as I sit wrapped up in a blanket when the flowers and trees are blooming outside here in Surrey).
I spent an afternoon with them – from having a bit of a snack, to crafts and board games to even a spot of Minecraft and Lion King on telly. I’ll let the photographs tell the rest of the story.
How wonderful is their everyday?! If you think your daily life is boring and there’s nothing special to photograph I urge you to reconsider.
