Wow, not a snow day, but the whole snow WEEKEND! The Russian in me was super excited. Say what you wish about the chaos it brings, but winters are just too depressing without the whiteness of snow. It was so great to see absolutely everyone smiling, striking conversations with the strangers and just generally enjoying themselves.

It wasn’t the first time Alex had seen the snow (his first time was in 2011 in Austria, when he was just 10 months old, and wasn’t massively excited), but I must say he wasn’t too impressed with the white stuff on this occasion either. He found helping daddy clear the car much more fun than sledging.

Still, my husband and I enjoyed this unexpected fun weekend, and I took a lot of photos, and even handed the camera to my obliging hubby so unusually, there are even some pictures of me Alex could look at in a few years time. Here are just a few from Esher Common, Bushy Park and River Wey.

For the photo geeks, all photos here were taken with a 50mm f1.4 and 100mm f2.8 Macro, and edited in Lightroom with Red Leaf Film Presets.
